New Mexico True is making a noticeable impact on tourism in our state. With your cooperative marketing, tourism development and beautification efforts we have a more unified voice, reasons to visit and beautiful state for our residents and venturesome travelers.
Are you a municipality, tribal government or non-profit organization that could use additional funding? The New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) offers three grant programs to assist your efforts in the areas of Cooperative Marketing, Clean & Beautiful, and Tourism Development projects and programs.

In support of the Tourism Department’s mission to make New Mexico the primary destination for venturesome travelers, its Cooperative Marketing Grant Program (CoOp) offers an avenue for tourism related, non-profit organizations, local and tribal governments to attract visitors to their destinations and events. The Co-Op program allows you to leverage the successful New Mexico True brand, building on the millions of cumulative brand impressions to draw visitors to your destination.The FY17 application cycle is now closed. Clean & Beautiful / Keep New Mexico True
As the Tourism Department and Cooperative Marketing Program advertise New Mexico, within and beyond our borders, Keep New Mexico True (KNMT), through the New Mexico Clean & Beautiful grant program, ensures that visitors to our destinations, events and assets find pristine environments. We rely on proud residents and willing volunteers to accomplish this important mission.
KNMT partners with Keep America Beautiful, its affiliate network and other municipalities, counties and tribal governments throughout our state. We inspire and educate people to take action everyday that improves and beautifies their community environment. Together we create socially connected, environmentally healthy and economically sound environments that are great places to live and visit.
The past two years, this grant program has awarded $700,000 annually to benefit New Mexicans and out-of-state visitors through beautification, litter reduction, recycling initiatives and education. The FY18 grant cycle is scheduled to open Monday, April 3, 2017. In the meantime, please review the Grant Document Downloads section of our grant website and begin formulating programs, projects and events for submission.

New this year, NM Tourism Department is offering Tourism Development grants to communities and non profits within NM to provide financial support towards infrastructure projects that will create new and enhance existing tourism products and projects. For a link to the grant webinar, click here.

This website is specifically for the use of New Mexico entities that wish to partner with the New Mexico Tourism Department. Eligible entities will apply here to receive assistance with their tourism efforts in the areas of marketing (advertising and promotion), beautification, and tourism development. Grant funds are awarded based upon an application and evaluation process. Not all applications receive funding. Communities are required to match grant funds with cash or in-kind services and are paid on a reimbursement basis (with the exception of the tourism development grants, which are funded up front). By applying for one or more grants through these programs, applicants and the municipality, tribal government or organization they represent agrees to their terms and conditions.
